How Are We Leveraging Technology to Grow Our Community? Published on June 25th, 2025
Prusa Research develops and builds innovative 3D printers and creative solutions for 3D printing, including helpful software and unique filaments, such as their Prusament PETG Tungsten 75%. Aiming to make 3D printing accessible to users of all levels—whether children, novice makers, or industry professionals—Prusa adheres to open-source principles while prioritizing ease-of-use and limited restrictions for their technology. To keep barriers to entry as low as possible for everyone interested in 3D printing, they offer many of their digital solutions free of charge.
The company grew out of the maker community and actively seeks to remain engaged in a continual feedback loop with its members, sharing ideas and taking in suggestions to improve products and processes. As a longtime supporter of Make More and a general partner for the Czech Maker Faire, Prusa has helped increase the number of annual Maker Faire gatherings in Czechia to 11—more than any other country in the world! They are committed to the continued growth of the maker community, in their home country and all across the globe.
As part of this commitment, Prusa has signed on as a general partner for FAB25 Czechia, and to ensure that the event is one to be remembered for years to come, they’ve agreed to open up their factory in Prague, inviting all participants to experience an exclusive tour. Prusa Day will be dedicated to the exploration of 3D printing technology, with a program featuring keynotes from inspiring speakers—including members of the Prusa Research team—a workshop block offering a mix of hands-on sessions, theoretical deep dives, talks, and masterclasses, and the guided tour through Prusa’s factory. And, in proper Czech fashion, the day will close with a Prusa Party filled with music, entertainment, networking opportunities, and a chance to raise a glass of world-renowned Czech beer with friends both new and old.
The Prusa team is excited to open its doors to the Fab Lab Network and looks forward to discovering new ways for all of us to work together. And we are even more excited about the impactful ideas that we know will be sparked by these collaborations. We can’t wait to see everyone in Czechia this summer!
