1ST TIME IN CENTRAL EUROPE

For over two decades, the FABx events have evolved from small gatherings into full-scale global events celebrating digital fabrication, the Fab Lab network, innovation and creativity. Now, in its 21st edition, FAB25 returns to Europe after seven years, marking the first time this iconic event is hosted in Central and Eastern Europe.

The motivation to bring FAB25 to Czechia comes from a strong belief in the country’s potential. With strong roots in craftsmanship, Czechia is ready to take the next step into digital making. FAB25 is the perfect chance to kickstart this transformation, connecting the Czech maker movement with communities across Europe and the world, while creating a lasting impact in the region.

BRIDGE THE GAP

The theme Bridge the Gap was inspired by the initial motivations for hosting the FABx event in Czechia. At the time, Czechia was on the periphery of the Fab Lab network, with only a few Fab Labs when looking further east on the map. The idea was further shaped by the collaborative energy that emerged from a series of pre-events held with European Fab Labs, makerspaces, and initiatives. These experiences helped define the program tracks and gave us the confidence to embrace a co-designed approach, involving the community rather than solely relying on our own perspective.

  • Expanding the Fab Lab network into underserved regions, particularly in Central and Eastern Europe.

  • Highlighting pressing and relevant topics for the Fab Lab and maker communities through carefully curated program tracks.

  • Inspiring participants to take active roles in fostering collaboration and driving innovation.
