How Are We Deepening the Impact of Our Global Partnerships?

For over a decade, Chevron has partnered with the Fab Foundation and the FabLab Network to expand access to STEM learning opportunities for under-resourced communities around the world. From the development of new community FabLabs to the creation of engaging education programs for teachers and students, this collaboration has enabled thousands of individuals to harness the capabilities of digital fabrication technologies to improve their lives. Chevron has also been an active sponsor of the annual FABx Event for more than 10 years, offering members of the Chevron FabLab network a chance to engage in advanced professional development while sharing these experiences with their international colleagues.

Recently, a new program has emerged that promises to deepen the impact of this historic partnership. The Chevron Fab STEM Fellowship is a commitment to increasing equitable learning opportunities, inclusive teaching practices, and the advancement of STEM education on a global scale. In their one-year journey to develop, implement, and share inclusive digital fabrication practices, Fellows strengthen the landscape of STEM education through cross-lab collaboration, producing impactful lessons and multimedia content to engage underrepresented student populations in new learning experiences. Importantly, the Fellows share space with their peers across the international FabLab Network at hosting FabLab sites and during FABx Events, forging new professional connections, exchanging best practices, and strengthening social and cultural bonds.

With a focus on innovation, community impact, and global knowledge sharing, the program has recognized nine outstanding Fellows since 2023. The 2025 cohort—featuring Đào Thị Hồng Quyên (Vietnam), Graziella Matarazzo (Brazil), and Grecia Bello (Bolivia)—continues this legacy, bringing transformative work in digital fabrication, sustainability, and culturally responsive education to the global stage. The Fellows’ participation in FABx Events amplifies their reach and enriches the Fellowship experience through global collaboration, peer learning, and shared inspiration. This summer, the 2025 Chevron Fab STEM Fellows, as well as those applicants receiving honorable mention, will join hundreds of other Fabbers, innovators, artists, educators, researchers, industry experts, and policymakers from around the world at FAB25 Czechia to explore the future of digital fabrication.
